About

Spirits was a fictional thing that I(Jenny) thought of after watching Soul Eater and playing Avalon Code (DS game). It's set in today's world, with some supernatural elements. A select number of people have spirit guardians, and are able to utilize the spirits' powers to fight the quickly spreading evil rooted in the town of Monterey Park.

Spirits is currently being developed by me, Edison, and Janelia, as we work out plots, tie things together, and of course, do character designs!

Spirits
The spirits are ancient beings born from various elements of the planet and have the duty of watching over the Earth. They make sure that all is in balance. The spirits slept for hundreds of years until a single nightmare woke them from their slumber. This nightmare was a prediction of the evil that was coming, and thus the spririts descended onto the unsuspecting planet. Materializing from the very elements that they represent, they meet with select individuals - individuals that they believed would be capable of saving the planet.

Each spirit can utilize specific elemental powers and can turn into a weapon for their partner to wield.

Wielders
The wielders are those individuals who were chosen by the spirits to fight the evil that would invade Earth. They were all connected through these spirits and their unique powers. The wielders all attended Mark Keppel High School, where they came together as a team.

Twilight
A mysterious group of people who banded together to fight the incoming evil. Though they have a similar goal as the wielders, they have a different method of achieving it. Thus, that created a problem between the two groups. The leader of the group seems to have some kind of connection to the evil itself.

Seasons
Spirits consists of 4 seasons (at least, if there are anymore, they are undecided for the time being)

Season 1: Reports of unexplained murders have suddenly flooded the news, and slowly, the cases seem to travel towards Monterey Park. The causes are unknown, at least, until the problem reaches Monterey Park itself. The wielders soon discover that any enemy that they seem to encounter recently is wielding a broad, black sword. As the wielders track down the cause of the problem, one of their friends ends up finding the sword, and soon challenges the wielders to a fight. They then discover that the sword is somehow controlling anyone who wields it, driving them mad and making them attack anyone and anything. And as they free their friend, they soon find out the sword's name and purpose: Mystletainn, a corrupted yet powerful spirit who has been sent to destroy the Earth.

Season 2: It is one evil after the next. Kaito Saeki, a new transfer student, hides a dark past and a sinister goal behind an innocent face. He befriends Jenny, and slowly pulls her away from the other wielders until he is able to use his shadow powers to split a part of his soul into her necklace. The necklace, which also amplifies Ur's power and thus connects him to it, gave him control over her and Ur. But his plans are not his own, as the other wielders find out, when they spot a shadowy figure giving commands to Kaito.

Season 3: Kaito reveals to Jenny that he had been working with a group called Twilight, and that all those in the group wear masks and hide their identities very carefully. A couple days later, Henry is sent to assassinate Kaito, a mission in which he fails, but as he escapes, Jenny discovers him and realizes that he was a plant in their group, but the question is, who exactly was he working for? Her only answer is that he wore a mask. Soon afterwards, all those who the wielders confront are clothed in either all black or all white, with theater-like masks. Further investigation into the matter leads the wielders to discover that Twilight is led by a person named Elessar. Kaito's leak of information to the wielders had caused Elessar to finally make his move. As they dig deeper into Twilight's plans, they realize their ultimate goal: to revive the shadow blade Mystletainn.

Season 4: Although Mystletainn's mysterious beacon in the sky seemed quite ominous, nothing ever happened afterwards. At least, not for many months. Before the summer is over, however, Edison and whatever is left of Twilight confront the wielders, pressing for an alliance. He gives a warning of the invasion of the zerg, and though the wielders don't believe him at first, the spirits soon realize that he is right. It starts when the construction workers at Mark Keppel dig up mysterious crystals. Immediately afterwards, the zerg reach Earth, and plant their chrysalis into various places of the surrounding area. Time has run out, however, and to maintain their facade, Jenny, Janelia, and Charlie leave for college, while the others, along with Twilight, stay in Monterey Park, wary of the approaching danger. As the zerg close in upon Monterey Park, closing in on whatever is hidden underneath the old school, Edison's strange eye begins to hurt, and at times he can hear a voice whispering to him about the might of the zerg amongst various other things. Jenny, Janelia, and Charlie must deal with the zerg in their own regions while the others near Monterey Park must fight off the main force of the invasion. Something hidden within Mark Keppel has driven the zerg, along with its leader, Kerrigan, to take over Mark Keppel. And as northern California falls to the zerg, the wielders lose hope: has one of the wielders fallen in battle?
