Hey a new post and a new background to share with everyone. Full size is 1920 x 1080.

This came about with the right mixture of being bored, having recently installed Windows 7, and needing a new background. Several hours and several different brush styles later and there you have it: a Senjougahara wallpaper to pay homage to the 2009 summer hit Bakemonogatari.

I stumbled on this image yesterday while browsing around. It was such a cool looking image, I had to download it. Since it had some extra text on the image, I couldn’t help but to put my Photoshop skills to work.

As for what this image is all about, it’s a cover image for a DVD release of a live concert event performed by the voice actors of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu) anime series. I don’t know what no Gekisou means though. Oh well.

While designing a new banner for my webpage, I started messing around with the image and came out with this cool silhouette image. Just another one of those spur of the moment things.

I was feeling a resurgence in making some art in Photoshop again so here’s what came about this time. This time I experimented with using Lens Flares combined with the Smudge tool and some colored layers to pull off the effect. Looks nice for something so impromptu.

About a year ago, I stumbled upon this comparison from another site. It would appear the animation director simply took a scene from the Cowboy Bebop movie, “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” and applied it to an episode of Naruto. If you look at it, it’s blatantly obvious that it’s a copy. The camera angles, the actions, and even the pace of the scenes match so well. You be the judge.

Another explanation would be that both Cowboy Bebop and Naruto copied this from stock sample footage, because this could just not be all be a chance of coincidence.

By the way, let the GIF image to load completely so that it would display more smoothly.

Last night I felt like playing around with Photoshop so I just whipped something up really quick to brush up on my techniques. This is what I came up with.

Then with some modification, resizing, and a few extra items, I came up with this:

Here was a spur of the moment sketch I drew that I eventually turned into a spur of the moment Photoshop experiment with coloring.

Oh man, everytime I see this GIF animation, I get a little humor and then some sadness and pity. What do you think?
