Kyoshiro shoves a naked Kuu away from him onto her bed and tells her to get out. Setsuna watches Kuu leave the house as Kuu takes a walk in the festivities taking place around the academy. Kyoshiro takes a dip in a pond still trying to figure out what he should do with Kuu. When he returns home, he finds out that Kuu is gone and is mad at Setsuna for letting Kuu leave. Kuu ends up at an old stone castle overlooking the city.
Well I was wrong about Kuu getting covered up by Kyoshiro from my prediction about the end of the previous episode. I guess it would be more dramatic to be thrown aside then to have a shirt/blanket thrown over. Then we have another scene of Kyoshiro treating Setsuna like shit again.

She is mesmerized by the colors as she walks towards them and steps over the edge. Kyoshiro grabs Kuu before she falls to her death. Kuu comes to terms with the fact that she’s not human and is even willing to fuse with Setsuna for the sake of not being a burden. Kyoshiro tells Kuu that it’s fine if she doesn’t do anything. He doesn’t want to involve her in the battle. After all the internal debate Kyoshiro has gone through, he has decided not to destroy Kuu, but protect her intead and then pronounces his love for Kuu.
Despite Kuu being practically useless, she’s at least trying her best to make life better for everyone else around her. She’s either somewhat masochistic or self-pitying. It’s the thought that counts for her I guess. Also, I just find it hard to swallow that Kyoshiro has feelings towards Kuu to the point that he confesses his love for her. There’s just not enough character development to convince me, the viewer, that that’s true.

Over at Mika’s temple, Himiko enters Kaon’s room while Kaon is sleeping. Mika on the other hand is headed deep towards a well-locked room. Himiko explains that Mika plans to have Himiko give Kaon all of her Mana. Himiko doesn’t mind doing the task and only regrets finishing her painting of Kaon. As Himiko is about to leave, Kaon grabs her arm while still asleep. Himiko gives Kaon a kiss and Mika’s symbol on Kaon’s arm returns to the previous symbol. In the secured room, Mika stands before a guitar.
Well, at least these two characters remain true. They’re pretty much the reason why I’m watching this show. Unfortunately, they don’t get enough airtime. What a shame. As for that room protected by a bunch of security doors, it’s a guitar on display. That doesn’t make any sense at all. And was that item offered to Mika a golden guitar pick?? I guess I’ll find out next episode.

Kyoshiro notices a letter in Kuu’s pocket. He knows what the letter is and tells Kuu that he’ll take the letter in its tattered form, but cannot accept it just yet until he breaks off his ties with Setsuna. He admits he has mistreated Setsuna and must settle things with her first. He pinky swears with Kuu that he’ll return to accept the letter. On their way out, Setsuna stands in their way. Setsuna powers up, but is distracted when a large glow radiates from the castle on the hill. Feathers start raining down and then we see Kyoshiro’s brother Kazuya descending from the sky along with the girl with the angel wings. Both Kyoshiro and Kuu have different recognitions for Kazuya. Kyoshiro runs towards Kazuya, but is knocked away into a wall. Then Kazuya tells Kuu to come with him.
I knew this Kazuya guy was going to make an appearance somewhere down the line. And from the look of his egotistic descent towards Kyoshiro and Kuu, it was pretty obvious he wasn’t exactly a good guy. I’m not saying he’s a bad guy either (it’s too early to say that), but he sure has elements that make up a bad guy. It was also pretty obvious that Kyoshiro was going to get striked away by Kazuya. I’ve seen enough anime shows to warrant that.
