Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th must be infamous for a reason. For some reason, I feel like I’m afflicted by its evil hex. The last couple of these Friday the 13th events I’ve had these bad things happen to me. Just little things where it just happens to be where I’m at the wrong place at the wrong time.

For today, I had to park farther than usual. Not a parking spot in sight. Then work was just a long drag of a day. The last 2 hours felt like a standstill. And of course, today happened to be the one day where there’s heavy rain after months of practically no rain. All day long, I knew I was gonna get affected by the strangeness of today. It was in the back of my mind all day. Driving home, it was laggy, it was wet, rain and dirt everywhere; it was an intense struggle just to get home. But finally, I managed to make it home without anything bad happen.

So instead of having one major bad luck event, I just had a really long day. So I still hate this fucking day. But at least it’s Friday and I survived.

X-Men 3: The Last Stand

So I watched X3 over the weekend. What are my impressions of it? Well let’s discuss what I expected first and then what I saw.

Before I saw X3, I knew it was gonna involve the Phoenix because of the suggestive ending scene in X2. Anyway, seeing all those previews on the commercials, I saw a lot of action and plenty of potential. I missed the chance to see in theaters so I waited til the DVD release.

So I got my hands on the movie recently and I saw the movie. So what did I see?

I saw a pretty bad movie. If you plan on reading the rest of this, there will be some plot spoils after this sentence. Anywho, I didn’t quite appreciate how they kinda killed some of the main characters. Cyclops ate it within minutes of the movie. Of course, I really don’t care too much about Cyclops in any of the three movies because he’s just some nobody actor in the mix of Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart, Famke Jannsen, Ian McKellen, and Anna Paquin. Well Anna Paquin isn’t that huge, but at least it’s a recognizable name. Even Kelsey Grammer was in the movie. And Rebecca Romijn, though she’s all in blue.

Okay, I’m losing track. Anyway, after Cyclops is deemed dead simply because he was nowhere to be found, which I think is silly and just leaving hope that he’ll return, Jean is brought back to the mansion and then runs off immediately. She then ends up turning Xavier into tiny bits of matter. So at that point, you got Wolverine, Storm, a few “kid” X-men members, and Beast. Talk about cutting down on paying the cast. After Prof. X is killed, Jean doesn’t display much power after that. Magneto does some metal lifting. A bunch of extras die, and at the end of the movie, Wolverine kills Jean to seal off the movie. Then at the end you find out there may be a chance for an X4.. Oh god. Maybe if they had an actual X-Men writer do the story and left out Brett Ratner.

So, in conclusion, X3 sucked.

In the Process..

Viewing back at the aftermath that is my current webpage, I have all these different ideas as to how to better improve this page. It’s really annoying though considering I only have so much time to work on it. About maybe 2 full hours. The rest of the time between coming home from work and sleeping for work the next day is wasted on eating, cleaning, and resting. I practically sacrificed my weekend the last two days just trying to figure out how to stream music and video. It was very well worth it though. Now I can share anything and everything that is of interest to me. And when I’m on the go, I can still share this stuff. Finally I’ve achieved something I’ve been wanting to do for so long. Now it’s just a question of whether or not I have enough discipline to keep this site up. I said I was gonna keep up my site last time. But the moment I took a break, things just went cold turkey. Hopefully this time it will be different. This time it’s easier to do things.

Well, I can give many reasons as to how and why I can keep this going, but only time will tell. And moderation too! I can’t just share everything in one fell swoop and end up with nothing. Because when I run out of stuff, when I slow down, when I stop for a moment, it’s so much harder to get back in it. So let’s see how this ongoing experiment works out.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Song - I Am The Wind

I had to top things off with another Castlevania item. I spent all day just trying to figure out how to stream music and videos on my website. So please appreciate it.

A cool scene from Fate/Stay Night (go watch it) in which I took snap shots of each frame and recompiled to form an animated GIF. Behold its glory:

Castlevania - Bloody Tears

So here’s another YouTube video I found. I have to give props to the person playing the piano; simply amazing. Anyway, he’s playing a popular Castlevania theme that runs throughout the series.

Finally..

As the title says.. Finally.. (with a long sigh of relief)

I finally found something online that works well with the vision I had for my website. The original problem that kept coming up was trying to maintain a graphically sound website with enough flare and organization to keep things together. Flash was an outlet, but it was just too much work to update. Too much scripting, too much of everything just for something so simple. So I just came to terms that all that design stuff behind the scenes was just not for me. I have the capacity for programming, I just hate doing it and I only have sporadic times to do things.

And that is why. That is why I went out to find tools that would make my life easier so I can share my life online with other people. Hell, if no one reads this, at least it will serve as a constant self reflection of myself. But yes, I found something that could do everything for me. At least I designed the layout of the site. The publishing program controlling all the content takes care of the nitty gritty so I can deliver to you what I want with all the ease in the world and without me being at my main computer to do stuff. Efficiency for me is to do as little updating of the infrastructure of the page as possible, and having pages automatically generated for me.

So let’s see where this will take us.
